Hi,

We are on VisualCron 6.1.1, but this issue happened on previous versions as well.

We have all of our FTP/SFTP upload tasks set to log task output. On a couple of SFTP servers, we get a stderr output of "Authentication failed for type 16", however the task continues and completes successfully. When logging in manually, we see the same error, but also get authentication succeeded after, and are able to connect. I think it's probably some type of mis-configuration on the server since it's only a couple of servers.

Normally, this would be no issue. However, the regular task output seems to stop logging when this happens. The only log we get is "Server key received (DSA). Fingerprint is <fingerprint>" Therefore, we have no log showing what files were actually uploaded.

Is there a way to make visualcron continue logging even after it encounters the apparent authentication error?

What are you expecting to be logged? You can control log settings if you open and edit the Connection (log incoming and sent data).

Right, both options are checked in the connection settings. Normally, there is a lot logged, such as the file names uploaded. However, when it gives the authentication failed error, that is the end of the log. We can login and see that the task has transferred files, it just doesn't report it.

Basically, we just need the audit trail.

Hmm..we could probably help you if you could send us a test account. Right now we do not see why logging should stop just because this authentication "warning". Please send any details to support@visualcron.com
