I have a team of 11 managing upto 30,000 servers on many different sites. I am trying to set it up to where anyone from my team can log on to are managing server and view all servers add to visualcron. but right now they can only see the ones they have added and not the ones others have. Short of doing an export and in port every time a change is made is there any other way to set this up?

thanks for the help

Right now Jobs cannot be hidden for certain users. But you tell me that some users only see their Jobs? Sounds like you have connected to different Server instances?

The way it appears to me is I just added three new server to our visualcron server under my user account. When I log in as a different user, say the admin account, I have a blank list of servers. If I add the server in under that account, it will recover all the task and everything.

Is that normal to where every user has to add the servers in?

I think, if you click on "server connections" button and examine each connection you will see that you go against different servers.

By default username is "admin" with a blank password but you probably connect to different servers (with different content).

No, when I say admin, I am talking about user accounts on the Server itself.

There is no other way than that you connect to different instances. We don't and cannot make any differences between user accounts.

I think the fastest way to close this case is if you provide screenshots. We need screenshots of the list of Server connections and screenshots of main client window after connecting. Please send to support@visualcron.com

Ok, I see what you mean now from the images.

"Server connections" are Client settings. This means that for each user there is a file that is defining which servers are setup for the specific user. Each user needs to, in "Server connections", define which servers to connect to and with which username and password.

Compare this with,i.e. that you install a desktop FTP Client for one user. When you log on to another user you will not see the settings for connecting that was setup for the first user as these are user specific.

Now is there a way to get them to look at the same file? or something. We are creating servers all the time and if one person adds it, i am going to need the rest of the team to see it?

There is a file, "servers.xml" that is stored in:

C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\VisualCron\settings

One way is to copy this file. Another way is to let your users connect from the single same Client machine with same Windows user but different VC users.

Im not sure if that is going to work for us. we are trying to avoid having everyone use one account on the machine, we all use are domain accounts. I may have to write a task to copy the file over to my group of users

Creating a script for this should be quite issue. You can even use VisualCron to monitor a "master" user settings file. If using a File Trigger within VisualCron to monitor that file for changes you can then use a Execute Task to run your copy script to all users.
