Hi Support

Is there a reason why when a job is inactivated, files appear in the Trigger folder and then when the job is re-activated the trigger doesn't work?

For example, I have a Job that has a File Trigger. Occasionally, I choose to inactivate the job as I don't want it to run until I have manually checked all files are in the trigger folder. Then when I activate the job, it doesn't run. Selecting 'Run Job' only runs the job once (even though there may be 10 or 20 files in the trigger folder). i.e. the Trigger isn't re-activated.

The only way I can get around it is to move the files into a temporary folder and then copy them back in to the Trigger folder after the Job has been activated.

Is there an easier way of doing this?

Cheers

Hi osirisja,

Triggers are realtime and disabling a job results in triggers not being active.
When you activate a job, triggers are waiting for new events.

So moving files and replacing them in the trigger folder is the only way triggering your job again.

Yes, Trigger active is a state. The same way as when you deactivate a Time trigger and activate again that deactivated time is lost time.

However, there is nothing preventing you from requesting a feature that we should scan folder when a Trigger is activated.

Hi Erik

Okay, that is understood. Perhaps there is a way of re-initialising the event? or, could a Job perhaps be 'Paused' so that the event is active but the Tasks are temporarily paused until released? Even perhaps Pausing and Releasing at the Task level would be advantageous?

Cheers

There is no way of re-initializing. What has happened in the past is not recorded. Only way is, as Erik mentioned, to copy files again.
