I am new to visual cron and this is a basic task that I need help on.

1. What I am trying to do is FTP directories that have dynamic names to another server.
2. Get a listing of the dynamic directories names on the new server
3. Copy the files from the dynamic directories to 2 other locations
4. Remove the dynamic directories and files in the directories

The part I am hung up on is step 2. I have not figured out how to pass the directory name without the file name to the source for the copy. The list gives me the full path with filename.

Example:
Get: D:\inetpub\ftproot\Client\ABC\InboxTest\07-13-11(2)-1\UPLUPL201107131057070320270_0001.tif

Want: D:\inetpub\ftproot\Client\ABC\InboxTest\07-13-11(2)-1\

Any help is appreciated

Seems like something is missing in the first sentence.

"What I am trying to do is FTP directories that have dynamic names to another server."

"is list"?

And what is "dynamic names"?

We have a system that generates output files on a regular basis. Everytime the systems generates the output files it creates a new directory with the date and batch number such as: 07-13-11(2)-1 and the files are placed in this directory

We are using VisualCron to FTP the newly created directories and associated files to server(2)/location.

Then we need to take the files that were placed on server(2)and move them to another directory for processing.

Once properly moved we will delete the original directories and files created on server(2).

Since the directory name is always going to be different. I want to do a listing of the directories and pass that to copy to move the files. I have been unsuccessful in grabbing the directory names.

Any help is appreciated

We don't have a FTP Trigger yet, which is in the plans. But for now you can download the directory structure to a local folder, which you monitor, with another Job that has a file Trigger. You can now react on changes and publish any new files on another place.
