Could you please show me what the necessary settings need to be so we can use Office 365 as our smtp email connection. Thanks.

Thanks...keep getting Exception in Task: Connection failed (error code is 75777)

Server
Name smtp.Office365.com
Address...132.245.1.118
Port 587
Protocol TLS
Security Mode Implicit

I know this works because i have tested in SQL Database mail and it runs fine...the only difference is that SQl does not force an Address...the server name is all that is needed.

I think you need to check settings with the Office365 support. We would be happy to know the correct settings.

No problem, will do. The work around at this time is using an SMTP Virtual Server as the relay. The problem with Office 365 is there is no static IP Address and if not interpreting wrong, your setup requires a Static IP Address.

Not a static ip. You can use DNS name.

The DNS name does not work...keep getting a connection error. No big deal for as anyway as we are going to use an SMTP relay as it is more secure.

If IP or DNS name does not work then I don't think SMTP service is open for connections.

Port 587 which is used for smtp.Office365.com is open and works on other applications. The one difference between Visual Cron and the others is that there is no IP Address used...just the smtp.Office365.com, with TLS and a valid eMail Address.

Update: Got it to work..needed to change the Encryption to SSL not the TLS which Microsoft says it needs to be...and the Security Mode to Explicit.

No Proxy

Exception in Task: Connection failed (error code is 75777)

When I changed encryption protocol to SSL, I get this
Exception in Task: Connection lost (error code is 10058)

I verified the authentication

what did I missed?

I think a Visual Cron update had changed the original settings that worked before. I had to change mine to these:

Protocol: SSL
Security mode: Explicit
All boxes checked
