I have job that copies files from a target server to a destination server, but gives back an error -

"\\client\e$\olap\backup\client_CRBI_911_PRD.abf -> \\server\Backup\Database\Auto\client\client_cubes\3-25-2009\client_CRBI_911_PRD.abf FAILED: There is not enough space on the disk.

There is plenty of disk space on both sides.

Any idea?

There is 9.62 GB free on C
and 1.55 GB free on E

The file being copied is about 18 GB.

I take it that it copies the file locally first :(

We use Windows only functions and perhaps it is using the local disk for something. Does it react the same way when using Delete source file after copy? (make a backup first). Because, when using Delete it performance a Move instead of Copy.

It already has delete source file after copy checked.

Ok, not sure about the inner workings of the operative system but it seems to copy the file on disk in a temp file. Maybe because the file is larger than the internal memory.

Hmmmm.... so file copy denied using visual cron functions. I guess I'll have to write a custom batch job for this then.

VisualCron should not work with temporary files after some investigation. I am little curious about your setup. I quoted your previous message. From which and to which drive are you copying? Is it one file only?

I noticed there was a bug fix related to copying in a release a couple days ago. Is it related to this thread?

No, it isn't but we will try to find a way to test this.
