Hello,

I've just updated to VC 5.7.8 and now all of our email tasks are failing.

When I'm in the VC server settings, under email settings I can send a test message successfully.

However, any Job using an email task is failing. The connections are set up identically to the email settings.

error:
Exception in Task: Unaccepted server reply for command RSET (error code is 500)
also getting 550 errors

Do you have any thoughts?

Thanks,

Hmm..550 errors is related to authentication. Like the wrong password or username is used.

Which version did you upgrade from?

Can you try to create a new email connection and test with that?

I created a new email task using the existing connection.

specified a single recipient, manual and it worked
added 2 recipients manually and it worked

set to use a file for the recipient list - error
tried changing the task and the separator - error

Unaccepted server reply for command RSET (error code is 500)

perhaps the recipient list isn't being assembled properly when reading from a file

The problems is that the file both contains linebreaks and semicolons.

That fixed it! I had the job set up using semicolons as the deliminator and the file had both line breaks and semicolons. I believe the older version I was using did not have newline as a separator option, so it must have been processing the file differently. I up all our distribution list files and we are back in business.

Thanks!!!
