I am trying to launch MSAccess in Visual Cron.

I have a Visual Cron server that I connect to via Remote Desktop.

I tried using a macro recorder which works create as long as my session is connected, if I lock the session and disconnect, I get error could not find window.
Now I'm just trying to launch Access through an execute task. I set the path and exe in the Command line but get error directory name is invalid.

Ok, we are talking about different execution contexts here and two different problems:

If you want to use the Desktop Macro Task you need access to the desktop. There are a couple of ways to do that:

1. Never log out on your server - just keep it locked
2. Add and select a Credential in Execution Context settings in the main settings of VisualCron (button Change).

If you want to use a normal Execute Task and get the error you describe you are probably trying to run the macro from a network drive. You need to:

1. Specify a UNC path (\\server\folder\file)
2. Add and select a Credential on remote server.

When I tried the desktop macro, I was not logging out. I was locking the remote session and disconnecting.

On the Execute Task, the path I have set is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\MSACCESS.EXE
I can browse to this path and launch MSAccess manually, but get invalid directory path when I run through Visual Cron.

Desktop Macro

By default it is locking the server when it is done. This can also be changed in the Execution Context settings. I am sure the problem is that you have not select a Credential to use for login. You probably got an error in the log regarding this.

Execute Task

VisualCron runs under the SYSTEM account and has sometimes not access to certain paths. Create a user that matches your user and select it and also use "With profile" option in Execute task settings.

Execute Task
Remember to put your macro as argument.

I have already tried your suggestions.

Desktop Macro
I have the macro set for foreground execution, on any desktop session, and set the login/Unlock credentials to a valid user. The job unlocks the session without problem, but I get the error Window Not Found - Microsoft Access

Execute Task
I did create a user that matches the user with which I log into the server and I do have With Profile selected but still doesn't work. What did you mean by putting the macro as the argument?

Desktop Macro
In your macro record, have you recorded that you open the program as well? You need to do everything from the beginning - as you would do it yourself. I would record it again.

Execute Task
I am not sure what you want to do, but if you just start MSACCESS.exe nothing will happen but that process MSACCESS is started. Why would you want to do that? If you are trying to combine this with Desktop Macro task?

The only reason I am trying both (this is not in the same job) is when I couldn't get the Macro recorder to launch MSAccess, I thought I would try to see if I could launch it by using the Execute task. Neither one is working.

Execute Task
If you want to launch it you must run it as a Foreground Task. This is also controlled in the Execution context settings. When you are running it as a Foreground Task you need a Credential in the Execution Context (same as in Desktop Macro) but you should remove your Credential in the Execute Task.

We can help you through a screen sharing application Yuuguu but I think the solution lays in the logs and that you are not running as Foreground in the Execute Task.

Is yuuguu the only option? I tried to download and it says it will take 2 1/2 hours.
