Thanks!
I downloaded this version today and I'm going to check it out.
The logging looks very nice!

I saw an extra window during setup. Here my result (I shrinked the path so it reads better):

Yes, this is part of the installation where we try to stop the service and kill all instances of VisualCron.

Unfortunately we found that VisualCron would not install at all on some computers unless this information was run visible.

We did an update of the exe. Please uninstall and redownload -> install.

We have corrected two things:

* a connection issue of IPV4
* a problem with dlls missing for the local sql logging (on some systems)

Hi,

The issue I have in version 5.6.9  is also there in this version:

When you delete an item in a grid view (like in the file copy task) and move the remaining items around, the above error will come up and the client crashes.
I think this is becouse of the order gap after the delete.

I think this is a general way of using the gridviews in the client, so not only the file copy task has this problem.

Hi,

FTP/SSH/Terminal
I noticed in the FTP/SSH/Terminal when I download a file it appears between the local files, but if there are more files, the icons don't match after the download. A refresh of this local files view will solve it.

Also, when I have a FTP connection open for some time in the same window and I want to download a file, it telles me the download is pending. There is no way to start this download. Than if I do a change dir on the remote site, I get an hourglass mouse icon and the tool isn't working anymore. I have to kill the client GUI to use the client again. This is also an issue in the current version.

Logging
In the client there is an option called: Log to event log. If I check this, after aplying and go back, the checkbox is cleared again.

If I generate the above error (grid view) I can't find this error in the logs. Not in the sdf file and not in the text files in the log dir. Is this ok?

Thanks Erik, we will check this.

We only log server errors to the database. That is why you don't see the error in the grid view.

Erik,

we fixed the copy files item issue.

However, we tried waiting and we eventually new the FTP had disconnected. But, what happens when we start to download again is that we reconnect automatically. I don't know what kind of state the client goes into from your server but it seems to be different.

We also tried downloading a bunch of files with different extensions. The icon turned out to be right the first time - every time. If there is anything else we can add to the test in order to reproduce this it would be great.

Hi,

Brainwave

I saw in the logs by job name: 'Not found'.
This is after I deleted this job.
After deleting the job, there is no easy way to get the logs anymore for this job.
Historic - General is the way to get the logs for the 'Not found' jobs.

I believe you are using foreign keys to get the job/task names.

Same behaviour is by renaming a job/task, the logs adjust to it.
By not logging the actual job/task name, it could be confused for the end user.

On the other hand, by doing it the way it is done now, you keep the log sizes to a minimum and you can get more log information by reading the message also.

Erik

Yes I saw, thanks!

Are you ready for some constructive criticism?

Gui behaviour
About the above, you might want to change the GUI behaviour doing the same like in the task view of a job. If you remove a task, the selection is gone and buttons/controls are disabled. They are enabled again when you click on a task.
You should have the same behaviour in your whole client.

I checked an other gridview and the FTP grid behaves different again:
The up and down keys jumping from cell to cell, not from row to row (same in connection view). Using the delete button (keyboard) here will somtimes select a different row, so also not the same as the task grid. Only when all the ftp tasks are gone buttons/controls are disabled.

In the condition gridview, if I use the delete button again (keyboard or GUI), I get a popup asking me if I'm sure to delete a condition. This is something I like to see everywhere when I press the delete key. And after deleting, sometimes I get a new selected row, and sometimes I don't.

Tab order
What I also want to add to the above is the tab selection order. This is very confusing. Pressing the tab button should select controls from left to right and from top to bottom, or the way you should fill in forms. This is not setup correclty at all.

Layout
If you open up a job, selecting all the different tabs, you see margin changes.

Info tooltips
In some of the screens there are little blue 'i' images for information. If I hover over them, I do not get any information. Same for the yellow '?' images.

Bottom line here is to make the GUI behaves the same everywhere. This must be a focus for the next release and than stick to your decision of the GUI behaviour. Before releasing a new version check if the modifications have the same GUI behaviour as the rest.

Job Notifications
In the notification tab of a job, you can select current notification. The Edit button isn't enabled when I click on a condition. I have to 2x click on a row. This is also in the global notification window the case.

😍 I love your product, that is something for you to be proud of. It just can be better. The GUI should be a clear interface.

Erik
