I was running 5.1.0 and bought a Maintenance Pack today, not that i need support but more as supporting VC

I've made the association with my activation code and that was successful
and I clicked the "Update Status" button.

But I still get the "Server License Problem" when opening the VC client

error message: Your licence does not permit you to use this version, The maximum version you are allowed to use is: 4.9.40

So it is still thinking I am using the previous activation code

How can I solve this problem?

Try the following:

1. Close the VisualCron Client
2. Open the VisualCron/settings folder located in "program files"
3. delete the file settings_api.xml
4. start the client again

The file "settings_api.xml" does not exist anywhere in the vc folder(s)

I've also deactivated & activated the license as if moving to a new server, same result

Would downgarding to 4.9.40 and then upgrading to 5.4.7 do the trick?

No, do not downgrade.

Sorry, "settings_api.xml" was recently moved to local application folder. Try opening the client and go to File->Manage client settings->Folders. Open the settings folder. Now close the client and delete file.
