Hello,

We are facing a little problem regarding task's rerun without triggering folowing jobs.

Say we have two jobs: test1 and test2
test1 has two tasks and test2 has one
test2 has a trigger on success from test1

If we want to restart only one of the task in the job test1 no matter what we do it triggers test2.
Our vision is to only run the task without deactivating test02. This solution works if you have a few jobs and if you keep a graph of the jobs chaining.

We expected that deactivating test1 could prevent test2 triggering but it's not what happen.

Do you have a workaround or better solution to propose?

Currently we do not have any other solution than deactivating the Trigger or deactivatinng the Job.

You could also trigger job 2 from job 1 as the last step, instead of having a 'on success' trigger in job 2. Then your problems should be solved, and additionally the flow of events is more obvious ...to me anyway.

@Support, if we deactivate the job and rerun this job or a task, the folowing trigger rises too no mater what. The only solution that let us rerun with no indesirable effect could be to deactivate the server, but this is not an option.

@Thomas, thank you for your solution, but the problem is the same if the last task should be rerun.
As I can see ther is no good solution and it's a real problem as the jobs number rise.

Are you sure?

Job1:
Task1: Do something
Task2: Call Job2

Job2:
Task1: Do something

If you right click Job1/Task1 and click on run task, job nr 2 will not be executed. If you execute Task2 in job1, then of course job2 will be executed, but then you basically asked for it :)

You are right, with the first task. I was talking about the second if for some reason the task fails and you should rerun it afterwards how can you do?

It's easy to disable the next job but if you have many jobs how can you be sure to rerun the task without triggering another one by mistake?

(Bumping an old post because of the implementation)

I just wanted to let you know that we've implemented this now in our latest 9.3.0 beta build which you can download here: https://www.visualcron.c....aspx?g=Posts&t=9989
