Hello - we are in the process of locking down our servers (PCI compliance) and I'm running into trouble starting VisualCron on Server 2003.

The VC server startup log indicates the following:

5/13/2009 12:37:08 PM Err Error identifying unique id. Trying again.(C:) Error: Call was canceled by the message filter. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010002 (RPC_E_CALL_CANCELED))

RPC and DCOM are running on the box. Are there any other services that should be running that I'm missing?

Thanks! -Isaiah

Thanks Henrik -

Actually WMI was running as well. Can you think of anything else that could be causing this? I'm not sure if this is any help but this is from the API log:

5/13/2009 1:21:26 PM IPC send failed, ex: Failed to connect to an IPC Port: The system cannot find the file specified.

It is related to WMI. Either firewall or permissions.

Go to Control panel->Administrive tools->Computer Management->Services and applications->WMI control.

Right click and select properties. Go to Advanced tab. What Root namespace do you have here?
