We are using a Remote file trigger to monitor an FTP site for the placement of a new file. If the site is down or the connection fails, the Trigger disables itself ("Active" boolean unchecks) and has to be manually restarted. Is there any way to prevent the Trigger from turning off even though there was a connection error?

You should alter the On error reconnect attempts and On error reconnect interval. Default is 60 x 10 = allowance of 600 second downtime - you might want to increase this.
