Hello

I've a "Job/Task control" task (let's call it t1) with a couple of "Job Variables" that I'm handing over to the sub-job.

I've cloned the task (let's call the new one t2) and have changed the value of one Variable and realized that VC is also changing the value of this Variable in the original t1 "Job/Task control" task.

Is this a bug or a feature?

I can provide a screencast if my description is not clear enough.

BR and thanks for any comment/feedback/help,
Thomas

User Variables values are global so that is a feature.

Understood.
But if I create the Job/Task control task manually with exact the same configuration and variables I don't see any dependency to other tasks that use the same variables. If User Variables are global, then I would expect the same behaviour no matter if I create the task manually or if I clone it.

Is it then a cloning-bug?

BR and thanks again, Thomas

Really hard to say. I think you need to provide some samples. I recommend the free tool Jing which can record the screen and take screen shots.

First I'm cloning a task, then I'm creating it manually.

Thx, Thomas

You are right. There seems to be a problem with cloning the Job Variables when cloning the Task. We have made a change in this version - please test it:
